Fire in my soul

To me it looks like the head of someone is on fire. Thoughts are overwhelming, burning out the persona mind. The person is mad and looking down at the world’s chaos.

Usually, subjects of a portrait painting sit down with a somber face, a neutral expression which is easier to hold for the duration the painter needs to capture a resemblance. Here as I see, the dominant expression is anger. Anger, in the hands of the painter, seems to be the „neutral, easy-to-hold“ face of the subject. In this interpretation, the personification of fire portrays a character which is impossible for a human subject to ever achieve. Personally, I would’ve enjoyed more darker shades around the portrait (instead of the lighter tone the painter chose to go with) as that’s a tone I associate most with fire.

Flame of vastitude flame of power, flame of love, flame of desire

s a very salutary thing to realize that the rather dull universe in which most of us spend most of our time is not the only universe there is. I think it's healthy that people should have this experience.

Many thoughts on this. Maybe an eruption of feelings or joy bursting out of fundamental sadness within ourselves.
