This artwork evokes a deep sense of introspection and emotion. The portrayal of a figure emerging from water, with a tear of blood, suggests a struggle between vulnerability and resilience. The fluidity of the water contrasts with the intensity of the gaze, inviting viewers to contemplate themes of pain, beauty, and the complexities of the human experience. It speaks to the idea of confronting inner turmoil while still seeking solace in the depths of one's own being.

Even if the window is the same, not everyone who looks out sees the same things: the view depends on the gaze.

When I first saw this young lady crying blood, her head soon recovered by water, I couldn't get my eyes off of her. To me, she suffered like nobody suffered, and I think that's why to look at her straight in the eyes is fascinating. I can see the emptiness of her emotion : she is totally empty, her look is empty, even her eyes cannot produce tears anymore, blood is what she's crying now. The pain is so powerful she's just nothing more but a body, without emotions because they've been totally erased by the pain. And now she'll probably sink in this mix of the water or her tears and her blood.
