Appropriately named „Schaumfabrik“, or the foam factory, this painting reminds me of every time I try to explore my childhood memories. One might see two kids sitting in an unmade bed, I see a single person who can’t recognise his own face from his childhood. The disarray of the bed hints towards the clutter of memories which prohibit us from reaching a deeper understanding - a factory of foams. The painter has masterfully added a sense of emotional solace in the scene by showing the faceless kid comforting the other one with his hands.
