The mine What fascinates me when I look at my trash can, and even more so my compost bin - now that we separate - is how disparate every thing that surrounds us truly is, and how we unconsciously tend to "hierarchise" these things in a great beauty contest: this is ugly, this is nothing, this is gorgeous, this is useful, this is useless. Yet in my trash I witness how naturally all these widely differing things mix together, forming a radical beauty of the chaos, a changing picture that lasts but a few moments before it merges and transforms itself in beautiful black gold, which in turn will fuel the growth of more natural things. Trash is the mine for the ultimate treasure of existence.
