The installation consists of an inflatable, mobile sculpture – a nomad tent that temporarily claims a place for itself. Contour lines, their color sequence corresponding to the EU barcode designed by Rem Koolhaas, reinterpret terms such as “homeland,” “territory,” and “borders.” Volcano breath for the world! Plot: Breath freely! Love rules, the frightening realms of the unknown and transformation processes become beautiful shapes… We are breathing within our world. Volcanoes are always global, never national, functioning both as the world’s respiratory system and as valves in the earth’s pressure system. They regulate the climate in a literal as well as socio-political sense. While territories are surveyed and nations constituted by their borders, volcanoes operate without respects to borders.
