This series shows objects floating in foggy and dreamy spaces. They are reminiscent of the saints floating in the sky seen in old masters’ work. Their works showed dynamic compositions, fantastical mood, elegant style and balanced relationships among figures which inspired me to start this project. Although I long for spontaneity, I have an instinctive tendency to do the opposite, so I often find myself controlling in many situations. The process of my work has been reflected by these two contrasting elements; spontaneity and control. The lines formed by unintentional brushstrokes gradually form shapes which are in the end converging towards the figures I consciously pursued. Floating objects are expressed by the dark or vivid colours, dynamic brushstrokes and flowing movement. In contrast, brighter and tranquil colours and soft texture create static and misty impression.
