Run is the third painting of my ongoing ‚people‘-series and is one of the more personal works. During the entire creative process, starting with the construction of the stretcher frame and the unprimed canvas, a process of coping with my own past took place in this work, which manifested itself bit by bit, brushstroke after brushstroke. At the same time, this work, like the series as a whole, provides a not only a diagnosis of our modern times, but since my observations and perceptions of everyday human problems are visually disclosed here, it also reflects my personal Point of view inside these modern times. Despite of its concrete presentation, the painting offers many possible interpretations, both in terms of identifying the minimalistic figure depicted and the situation in which it finds itself. Humans were made to run. It is our most original and natural type of movement. There are many things we would most like to run from and many we need to run from. Like all human emotions, fear has many faces, which is why the entire series deliberately dispenses with concrete human representations. I felt the need to enable a more targeted dialogue between the work and the viewer in this way.
