„The Three Wishes/ Decades Until Christmas“ features a split composition that juxtaposes two contrasting textures: a blurred, softly flowing, silky fabric and the structured leather upholstery of a car seat. Scattered across the canvas are vibrant, oversized gemstones—pink, blue, yellow, red, green, and purple—each meticulously detailed and tinted with synthetic pigments. The background, painted in classical grisaille, is intentionally left raw. The split background underscores the tension between soft, feminine-coded forms and rigid, more masculine-representing structures, mirroring cultural constructs and gendered aesthetics. I draw inspiration from my childhood Christmas wish lists I used to craft myself by assembling magazine cutouts and embellishing them with domestic materials. These collages elevated unattainable objects onto a sentimental pedestal. They itself become the "treasure."
